NATIONAL REGISTER OF HISTORIC PLACES
Listing your building in the National Register provides honorific recognition of its history and/or style. Depending on your location, listing can also lead to local protection or preservation tax credits for restorative work.
I have successfully listed dozens of individual buildings and collections of buildings as historic districts. My nominations have ranged from a single barn to a district of 75 downtown buildings in Hays, Kansas.
Click on the "My Business" tab at the top of this page for a sampling of my listings.
SURVEY
Survey is the process of documenting historic buildings and sites. A survey usually includes recording physical information, gathering historical information, photography and creating a site plan. Surveyed information is often entered into an online database and may include an opinion on whether a building is eligible for listing in the National Register.
Samples of my surveys can be found by searching under "Ford, Susan Jezak" at http://khri.kansasgis.org/.
